Career Building Tools & Tips

The process of applying for a job can be overwhelming. Through Dress for Success Washington, DC’s Virtual Career Center, you’re given the opportunity to pair with a career coach who will help you with every aspect of the job application and preparation process. Our coaches will work to set you up for success as you apply and move into the interview process and beyond.

Individuals will be paired with a coach who will assist in the job preparation and application process. Through in-depth one-on-one discussions, and frequent check-ins, the coach and client will work together to update resumes, develop cover letters, and review best practices as clients begin to submit their resumes to organizations.

Once resumes and cover letters are submitted to prospective employers, coaches will continue to work with clients on application follow-up and interview prep.

One-on-One Career Coaching

Upon referral, women can receive consistent one-on-one career coaching from a volunteer who has access to professional career coaches for resources and questions. A coach will support the client throughout the entire life cycle of an application process, including setting up a professional e-mail account and LinkedIn profile.  Clients can work with a career coach to discuss their resume, cover letters, interview preparation, general career guidance, how to successfully fill out an online job application, or any other career related questions.
